Charleston practice: pass tiles like a real game

You get 13 random tiles. Pick 3 to pass at each step, the way you would at the table. The other players are simulated, so the tiles you get back are random.

    What the trainer follows

    • The first Charleston is required: pass 3 right, 3 across, then 3 left.
    • On the last pass of each Charleston you may pass blind: send on 1, 2 or 3 of the tiles coming to you without looking at them.
    • Any player can stop the second Charleston. If everyone agrees, pass left, across, then right.
    • The courtesy pass is 0 to 3 tiles with the player across, by agreement.
    • Jokers can never be passed.

These are the standard rules. Your group may play house variations. Read the full walk-through in how the Charleston works.

    Common questions

    Is the Charleston trainer free?

Yes, free and with no account. It runs in your browser.

Does the trainer use the real card?

No. It deals random tiles so you can practise passing. Keep your own current card next to you to practise choosing hands.

    Are the other players real?

No. They are simulated, so the tiles you receive are random draws from the rest of the set.

Can I practise the blind pass?

Yes. On the first left and second right passes, choose how many tiles to pass blind.

Why can I not select a joker?

Because jokers can never be passed in the Charleston, the same as at a real table.
